how shall we play?

Seniors need joy, movement and socialization - we can do all that with playful dance classes!

Jackson is a K-12 Teaching Artist who loves to offer his lesson plans of kids’ dance classes to adults because we deserve to play too!

Classes are of simple, fun, freestyle movements, adapted to participants’ accessibility. There is no expectation of perfection.

“Dance is a non-pharmacological, effective, affordable, and engaging intervention that can be used as a complementary treatment for older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia… results indicated that dance interventions had a significant effect on global cognition, memory, balance, and significantly decreased depression.”

“Jackson is a light who shares knowledge from a deeply embodied place. He invites participants to connect with their bodies through laughter and play, which makes embodiment accessible to everyone, no matter where we find ourselves on our healing journey.”

— LaUra Schmidt, Founding Director and Co-Founder of Good Grief Network

"…His movement prompts and accessible way of role-modeling movement brought us on a journey through our emotions and closer to each other. It was a terrific experience that I would totally do again!"

— John Ma, Organizer at Ground Game LA

“I think people are looking for spaces to be vulnerable, especially after the pandemic, and it was so beautiful to see some of our more quiet participants come out of their shells. I really feel like they shined that day.”

— Kim Orbe, Sierra Club Angeles Chapter Senior Conservation Program Manager
